EVER.
How very sad.... but happy at the same time?
Excuse me if my writing is slightly more incoherent than usual, I'm currently listening to Joe Hisaishi's あの夏へ (One Summer's Day) from Spirited Away which Judith played for us today...how nostalgic and sad. And I'm discovering I cannot organise my thoughts properly whilst listening to music. It's very hard to concentrate on what I want to write.
give it a listen :)
So anyway...it's been a while, blogger.

Starting from last week on Thursday...
I HAD MY JAPANESE ORAL EXAM.
It was so nerve wracking...as soon as I sat down outside the room to wait, the assessor opened the door and asked me to come in.
I guess I went alright...I managed to maintain the conversation and make the assessors laugh a little at my horrid awkwardness. The most horrible thing would be that I said 増える (increase) for the WHOLE EXAM while referring to the number of people interested in 伝統芸能 (traditional arts) instead of saying 減らす (decrease). I only realised at the very end, when the assessors asked me if I even knew what I was talking about.
...oops.
afterwards we ate lunch and hung out and PLAYED WITH BUBBLES
IT WAS SO AWESOME.
And then we went home.

On Saturday and Sunday...well...
See for yourself.
Selina had the le brilliant idea of making mock Real Estate FOR SALE signs and hanging them outside the school for people to see. So basically both of us worked over the weekend to get them done, but the above one was almost completely done by Selina herself since we procrastinated too much on Saturday.
While we were working on the larger banner, Selina had some super weird sitting position.
can you feel the pain of us artists yet?
And then she decided it would be a good idea to drop a large gob of paint onto the sign.
It took us about 5 different soap products and heavy duty Napisan to try and get it down to what you see above...
SHIET MAN.
But hey, it turned out pretty well once we hung it up.
The sign in all its glory.
The spot's barely visible at all, right?
Unic Homes is a pun, it means Unicorn Homes but also Unique Homes.
We don't horse around.
GET IT???
Unfortunately later on in the day, as we left my friend Choo's house, we discovered that IT HAD BEEN TAKEN DOWN.
Dagnabbit.
I think it's alright to post it though, since Selina and I already went up to Mrs Calvert and told her it was us responsible for the sign. She seemed really happy about it, she said "it was clever and not stupid".
Oh yeah while we were putting up the banner, while madly running to school at 5am to beat sunrise and the increasing amount of commuters, we GOT CAUGHT. BY SECURITY GUARDS.
But it was fine?
I hope.

And that brings us to today...
the last day of school.
It started off rather slow...everyone took photos and stuff and I was late as per usual. As we were lining up to go into the hall, my art teacher came up to me and told me I'd been selected for the Art Accolade Award. This means as the best in my year level the school would buy my artworks and display them in the school. I honestly didn't know what to say, it was so out of the blue...In hindsight I should've perhaps inquired more about the terms of the agreement and what she thought about it...
I have no idea how much the school is paying me...just letting you know, they're in debt right now.
But still, it's an honour! I suppose I wouldn't have done much with them anyway so some moolah is what I need right now I think.
I got called up in front of the entire final assembly to receive this prize and it was awkward and etc since I'm not good at social.
After our assembly everyone exited and some people began to cry...I think that's when it hit me that this was really our last day of school and we'd never be in class with all our schoolmates ever again (insert sentimental tear here). I guess it didn't really dawn on me the entire day or even now as I'm typing that it's gone and will never come back.
So I guess I wanna thank anyone from my school happening to read this blog for making my school days TRULY F**KING AWESOME, it was a blast!
Not wanting to really part and go home, those who could went to eat lunch at Sofia's, Burwood (the only place we could think of that was not full of schoolkids + close + cheap) and then mucked around afterwards. I seem to be playing on playgrounds more now than when I was a child and I suppose that is a good thing.
This is the envelope I received on stage. It says Year 12 Art Award Winner, 'Sculptures', Edward Tang, and it is empty.
I was eating ice cream, it's sugar-filled Peter's Choc Caramel & Vanilla Swirl. Extra creamy. GOOD EXAM PREP FOOD.

While at the new SUPER-COLES in Burwood, we found these really cheap but good art supplies. Me, Jo and Caf & Wynne are gonna do something with these sketchbooks...we bought one each.
The photos are dim since the sun was setting and I like the lighting when it does? Does that make le sense?
My camera sucks.
Nah actually it's the fly screen.
Nah actually it's the fly screen.
The window makes it look funny.
Sorry for the long post, I actually probably have more to write that I simply forgot. Oh well.
Till next time,
eddyward.
